Motorcyclists have been advised to always be careful and put on their crash helmets as their lives are in their hands. This was made known by the Public Education Officer, FRSC, Margaret Onabe , as she commended Architect Emeka Uganeme for providing 200 pieces of crash helmets, which were handover to the Motorcycle Transport Union of Nigeria (MUTUN) Nanka chapter.

The Chairman of the occasion who is also the Vice president, Ohanaeze ndi Igbo Chief Okeke Ogene asked motorists to live their lives for others by making sure they are sound before plying the roads, and ensuring their bikes are in good form and always avoid stress.

The senator representing Anambra South senatorial zone, Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah represented by comrade Ezeokafor and Moses Obi the State chairman Young Progressive Party said that Ifeanyi Ubah supported the programe with the donation of one motorcycle for use, six sewing machines, two grinding manes and two plasma televisions.

Uganeme, in his welcome address said that Nanka road safety summit is a program initiated to save lives through proper orientation of the road users especially, motorists. He said that most of the accidents witnessed on the roads are caused by the recklessness and carelessness of some of the motorists rather than the notion that they were spiritual, He said that every accident is a notice that something is wrong with men, method, and materials.

He also said that the occasion marked the unveiling of the Motorcycle Transport Union of Nigeria (MUTUN) Nanka office. He gave out 200 pieces of crash helmets to Motorcycle Transport Union of Nigeria (MUTUN) Nanka chapter.

The member representing Nnewi North in the Anambra House of Assembly, Hon. Smart Okafor said he was there to show solidarity to Uganeme who nursed the idea to educate Okada riders on road safety rules and regulations. He said he is thinking of what it will cost him to mount such programme for his people in nnewi.

The Anambra State Sector Commander of FRSC, Adeoye. A. Irelewuyi represented by the unit commander, Igbo Ukwu, Assistant Corp Commander, Mobolaji Oladeji begged motorists to cooperate with the men of the FRSC and said that the season is not for bookings and urged the users of the road to be more careful.

In the same vein, the Head ,Vehicle Inspection Services, Ministry of Transport Anambra State, Engr. Achuam Mcdonald said that motorists should stop running when sighting them on the roads.

The DPO , Ekwulobia Divisional Police Ayeli Oluwadere charged motorists to always change their shoe brakes and bulbs.

Other dignitaries present at the occasion were the Nanka patriotic Union, women group, the famous Opuru iche dance group of Nanka, Nanka youth President, Hon . Ken Okoli, Great minds committee of Nanka, amongst others.
