The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has revealed that over 14 million Nigerians are addicted to harmful drugs.
Deputy Commander of NDLEA Ondo State, Mrs. Yetunde Joyifous, made this known at a drug awareness program in Ile Oluji/Oke-Igbo LGA on Wednesday. She emphasized that drug abuse negatively alters users’ minds and called for community partnerships to tackle the crisis.
Oijefon Youth Council President, Adedokun Adeyonu, highlighted peer pressure, media influence, and personal struggles as key factors driving youth into drug abuse. He urged society to take responsibility in guiding the younger generation toward a better future.
NDLEA reaffirmed its commitment to intensifying efforts to curb drug addiction across Nigeria.
