The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has dismissed claims circulating in the media that corps members will soon receive a ₦70,000 minimum wage.
In a statement on Sunday, the NYSC’s Director of Information and Public Relations, Eddy Megwa, clarified that no directive has been issued by the government to raise the current allowance of corps members.
Megwa urged corps members and the public to rely on official communication channels for accurate information.
This comes after President Bola Tinubu signed a bill in late July increasing Nigeria’s National Minimum Wage from ₦30,000 to ₦70,000, but the NYSC emphasized that this increase does not yet apply to corps members.
