Ndi Igbo Told To Embrace Their Language And Culture To Save Them From Going Into Extinction.
Ndigbo have been enjoined to embrace their Language And Culture to save them from extinction.
The National President, Anambra State Association of Town Unions, ASATU, Chief Barr Titus Akpudo, gave the advice when members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Culture and Tradition Committee led by it Chairman, Comrade Nneka Anoliefo, paid him a courtesy visit at his office at the Government House, Awka.
Chief Akpudo commended the state Council of the NUJ for deeming it fit to organize the Cultural Fiesta.
He disclosed that he is a lover of culture and tradition, and has been doing everything possible to promote and preserve the Igbo rich cultural heritage.
He commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo administration for what it is doing in promoting Igbo Culture and tradition, and promised to support the committee spiritual, morally and financially for the success of the maiden Edition of the Cultural Fiesta.
Chief Barr Akpudo also promised to involve some Presidents-General to help in propagating the good news of reviving Igbo language and culture to save it from Extinction.
The committee chairman, Nneka Anoliefo, in her remark, thanked the ASATU National President Chief Barr Akpudo, for his warm reception and reminded him that the NUJ 2022 Culture and Tradition Fiesta will hold on 20th October at the Godwin Ezemo press Center in Awka.
Comrade Nneka hinted that the aim of the fiesta was to help revive the Igbo language and culture

She frowned at parents and guardians who bully their children or wards when they speaking the language.
Comrade Nneka regretted that most Igbo people can not speak Igbo language without mixing it withvEnglish language and called on Ndigbo to teach their children their mother tongue and proverbs.
In a vote of thanks, a member of the committee, Comrade Anthony Obiora, thanked Chief Barr Titus Akpudo for his support and cooperation, describing him as media friendly, while praying God to grant him sound health and as well bless the works of his hands.
Comrade Bonvera Ndubuisi of National link and Jeff Agbodo of Correspondent Chapel were among journalists that paid the courtesy visit.
