Nigeria sees progress in the fight against corruption according to the latest report from Transparency International.
Nigeria has climbed five places in the Corruption Perceptions Index for the year 2023, as disclosed by Transparency International on their official website.
The country now stands at 145th out of 180 nations and territories globally, with a one-point improvement, scoring 25 out of 100.
According to report, this improvement follows Nigeria’s steady climb, with the nation moving up four spots in the 2022 ranking and maintaining its score of 24 points.
Transparency International Chair François Valérian emphasized the importance of justice systems in curbing corruption, urging leaders to invest in independent institutions to uphold the law.
However, Nigerian authorities have yet to respond to the latest report.”
