Barely a year after the jet fighter of the Nigerian Air Force 475 went missing during an operation against Boko Haram in 2021, the Nigerian Army has announced that the wreckage of the fighter jet has been found in the Sambisa forest.
It will be recalled that following the disappearance of the jet fighter, the terror group Boko Haram released a video, claiming it shot down the alpha jet declared missing by the Nigerian Air Force. In response, the Army said it was a doctored video to give a false impression that the aircraft was shot down, but confirmed that they lost contact with the radar in Borno state during the flight which had on board two crew members on March 31, 2021.

However, on its verified Facebook page on Saturday, the army posted that troops of Operation Desert Sanity on a clearance patrol in Sambisa forest, Borno state have uncovered the wreckage of crashed Alpha Jet aircraft, NAF475, that went off the radar with 2 crew members on March 31, 2021. It also said that further exploitation was ongoing.
