The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has forecast three days of thundery and rainy weather conditions across Nigeria, starting Sunday.
According to NiMet’s weather outlook, on Monday, southern states should prepare for morning rain in Ekiti, Imo, and Cross River, with afternoon and evening rains likely in Abia, Imo, Ekiti, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, and Rivers.
NiMet advises that afternoon and evening thunderstorms will continue in Ogun, Ondo, Edo, Delta, Imo, Ebonyi, Cross River, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, and Lagos states.
On Tuesday, in the central region, thunderstorms are expected in the Federal Capital Territory, Benue, Nasarawa, Plateau, and Niger states throughout the day. The southern region will experience cloudy skies with morning rain in Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, and Cross River, and afternoon and evening rain across the entire region.
NiMet advises the public to take precautions as strong winds may precede the rains and airline operators should obtain updated weather reports for safe planning.
