NSCDC rescues newborn baby abandoned in dilapidated building in Jigawa

Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, in Jigawa state has found a newly born baby girl abandoned in the Hadejia Local Government Area of the state.

NSCDC spokesman, CSC Adamu Shehu, confirmed this in a statement issued to newsmen.

According to Shehu, the newborn baby girl was discovered on Sunday at Kandahar B Quarters in Hadejia.

Shehu explained that the baby was discovered where she was abandoned in an uncompleted building early on Sunday.

The NSCDC spokesman said the baby was handed over to officials of the Social Welfare Department, Hadejia LGA, for proper care.

He said NSCDC had launched an investigation to identify and arrest the baby’s mother.
