The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Anambra State Command, has pledged to sustain the existing collaboration between the Command and Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) as well as other regulatory agencies towards apprehending purveyors of substandard and unwholesome products in the State.
Anambra State Commandant of the NSCDC, Mr Everestus Obiyo, made the pledge on Wednesday 2nd of March,2022 when he received in audience, the new Director of Standards Organisation of Nigeria, Anambra State Directorate, Mr Don Pedro Papanye Ebenezer, at the State Command Headquarters in Awka.

Mr Obiyo appreciated the enforcement and compliance roles being played by SON in quality verification of products, aimed at ensuring the quality and standard of goods for healthy living.
He admonished dealers and marketers to shun fake and counterfeit products, warning that those caught dealing in substandard or unsafe products would bear the consequences of their actions.

Earlier, Mr Don Pedro Ebenezer informed the State Commandant that his visit was to formally introduce himself and to strengthen the cordial relationship between the two agencies in getting rid of fake and substandard products in the State.
He spoke about the existing cordial relationship between the two agencies, which has been helping the SON in its enforcement activities. “We see great result in collaborating with your agency in that regard”,

He agreed that SON cannot do the assignment alone hence, collaboration with NSCDC had become imperative as part of the inter-agency synergy necessary to stem the incidence of substandard products in the country.
