Pastor Kills Wife Over Suspicion Of Infidelity In Akwa Ibom
A shocking case of domestic violence occurred in Oron LGA of Akwa Ibom State after a pastor with the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Victor Okoh, allegedly murdered his wife, Victoria Okoh, over suspicions of infidelity.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Monday, March 10, 2025, at the couple’s residence.
Victoria, 38, a mother of two, was reportedly attacked with a machete by her husband, resulting in fatal injuries.
When police arrived at the scene following a distress call from neighbours, they found her lifeless body outside their home.
Police said the culprit, Victor Okoh, 42, attempted to escape arrest by hiding in the ceiling of the house.
He was eventually arrested, and the machete believed to have been used in the attack was recovered.
The Akwa Ibom State Police Command confirmed that the body of the deceased was deposited at the General Hospital Morgue for autopsy.
Neighbours who spoke to reporters, described Victoria, as soft-spoken and dedicated to her family, and had allegedly endured a troubled marriage marked by repeated accusations and verbal abuse.
Many of them expressed regret at what happened, noting that the signs were there but the tragic outcome still came as a shock to them.
The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Timfon John, said investigations are ongoing, while the suspect remains in custody.
She said that the Commissioner of Police, CP Baba Azare, strongly condemned the killing and reiterated the command’s commitment towards ensuring justice is served.
Victoria is survived by her two young children.
