The life of a public office holder should be a life of service and prioritizing societal development over personal aggrandizement, contributing personal resources to the critical sectors of economic development viz education, health and support for small businesses.
This was a statement attributed to the former governor of Anambra State, Mr Peter Obi at The Good Shepherd Specialist hospital, Enugu, where he gave a donation of N2 million to the hospital as his contribution to better healthcare delivery.
He commended the Proprietor of the Good Shepherd Specialist Hospital, The Rt Revd Emmanuel Chukwuma for putting up structures that are critical to the growth and development of the nation. He maintained that even though he is no longer occupying any public office now, he would always contribute to a better society.
Receiving the cheque, Bishop Chukwuma thanked Obi for being a force to reckon with in terms of societal development. He praised Obi for remaining consistent in his life of service to society and prayed God to bless him and lift him higher.
