The Anambra State Police Command said it has foiled a kidnap attempt and also rescued the victim around Umuchiana village, Ekwulobia in Aguata Local Government Area of the state.
In a statement on Thursday, the state police spokesman, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, said the police operatives recovered the victim’s vehicle.
Ikenga said, “The technology-driven and rejigged personnel operational positioning on the anti-crime approach of the Commissioner of Police, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam, has continued to thwart criminal endeavours of gunmen in the state, as police in Aguata rescued an abducted victim and recovered his vehicle, a sky blue Toyota Camry.
He explained that the officers responded swiftly when they got the report at about 4:30 pm on 22/5/2024 of the abduction along Umuchiana village, Ekwulobia, Aguata LGA.
He added that the victim has been debriefed and reunited with his family
