
Anambra State Police Command says yesterday, at about 7:30am, following a distress call, its men attached to B’ division, Awka, arrested a robbery suspect
one Ejike Nwogu, aged 20years, native of Nise Community in Awka South LGA of Anambra State.

A release issued by the State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Haruna Mohammed, said the Suspect allegedly attacked a lady along Stanford by Ifite road, Awka, at gunpoint and robbed her of her money, handset and other valuables.

The Police report said the suspect has voluntarily confessed to the crime and exhibits recovered in his possession include one locally made double barrel gun, two live cartridges, Cash sum of 35,000 thousand naira, two Radian Andriod phones, two handbags, two Sim cards, and one trycicle used in perpetrating the crime.
The PPRO also informed that last Friday, at about 6:30pm, following a distress call that some girls were being robbed at Amaenyi area, police patrol team attached to Central Police Station, Awka, quickly rushed to the scene and arrested Chijioke Idika, aged 29 years of NO. 40 Umudioka Street, Awka.
He disclosed that exhibits recovered from the suspect include the robbed handset and one tricycle with Registration number – MUS 01 QG.
According to PPRO, all cases are under Investigation after which the Suspects would be brought to justice.
The Command reassures the public that it will continue to pursue the criminals from all nooks and crannies of the State until they repent or relocate from the State.
