Police Nabs 10 Year Old Boy Involved In Kidnapping

Police in Anambra on Saturday arrested two suspects in connection to the kidnap of two year old Obiajulu Azubuike.

Following the alarm raised by Mrs Charity Ogochukwu Azubuike of Afam Ezialla village, Ihiala at the Ihiala Police Station over her son , Master Testimony Obiajulu Azubuike who got missing inside the market and couldn’t be found after frantic search, police detectives swung into action.

On the 23rd of January, with the collaboration of Imo state police , two suspects have been arrested.

According to Anambra Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Haruna Mohammed, the two suspects are 19 years Chinecherem, male of Ogboro Isiala Village, Ihiala and 10 years Chinedu Adom, male of Umuozu village of Nwangele local government area of Imo state.

In their confession, the Principal suspect said the ten year old Chinedu uses biscuit to lure children , either from school,market places or isolated areas and taken to Imo state where they are sold at the paltry sum of 100,000 naira , only.

The suspects have voluntarily confessed to the crime and the child has been reunited with his parent and in good condition. The case is under investigation and effort is ongoing to apprehend other accomplices so as to bring them to justice.

The Commissioner of Police John Abang also used the opportunity to urge parents and guardians to always monitor their children and caution them against collecting items or following strangers in order not to fall victims of child stealing syndicates .
