Police recover gun of Aba killer cop, say the man is on the run.

Abia State Commissioner of Police, Jane Agbede, has confirmed the killing of two revenue staff in Aba, saying however, that the police officer is on the run.

She disclosed that the police officer ran away and that the command has been trying to lure him to Umuahia or Aba to hand himself over to the authorities.

According to her, the police officer had assured that his friend will bring him in a vehicle to the office and directed the authorities where to fetch him, only to find his rifle dropped for the police and he was not seen anywhere.

The CP said the police is still looking for him.

Recall that trigger-happy police officer had killed two revenue staff at Aba mid-last week.

The victims identified as Izunna Enyinnaya, an undergraduate (ND 2 finals) student of Abia State polytechnic, Aba, who hails from Umuokiri village, Osisioma Ngwa LGA of Abia State and Ifeanyi Kalu, from Alayi in Bende Local Government Area, also in Abia state.

The report said when the incident happened, other revenue collectors ran for safety.

According to an eyewitness, a bus belonging to Crunches was impounded by the taskforce and the driver had alerted his office that the bus had been driven away by the taskforce.

The office was said to have immediately sent Policemen who, allegedly arrived with “AK-47″ riffles.

On arrival at the scene, one police officer was said to have started “shooting sporadically” and bullets hit Ifeanyi Kalu at the stomach and one Izunna Enyinnaya.
