
President Muhammadu Buhari has signed the 2021 Appropriation Bill of thirteen trillion, five hundred eighty eight billion, twenty seven million, eight hundred eighty six thousand, one hundred seventy five Naira into law.
President Muhammadu ‘s action followed the earlier passing of the bill by the National Assembly on Dec 21 during an emergency session convened for the purpose of passing the budget.
Passing the budget now is also in line with the president’s promise to return the Nation to the January to December budget circle.
According to report, amongst other things accounted for, the budget also provides three trillion, three hundred twenty four million, three hundred eighty thousand naira for debt servicing, five trillion, six hundred forty one billion, nine hundred seventy million, sixty thousand , six hundred eighty naira for Recurrent expenditure and four trillion, one hundred twenty five billion, one hundred fourty nine million, three hundred fifty four thousand , two hundred twenty two naira for capital expenditure.
The president also signed the 2020 finance bill into law.
Present at the signing of the budget were the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, Senate President Ahmadu Lawan and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila.
Also present were the Secretary to the Government of Federation, Boss Mustaphar, some cabinet ministers as well as fee top goverment officials.
