President Bola Tinubu has addressed Nigeria’s poverty challenges, highlighting the need for systemic change and tackling insecurity.
Speaking in Lagos on Monday, President Bola Tinubu acknowledged the widespread poverty and suffering in Nigeria. He emphasized that Nigeria is not alone in facing these issues but stressed the importance of addressing them head-on.
According to his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, Tinubu highlighted eliminating banditry and terrorism as crucial steps to enable farmers to return to their fields and boost food production.
The President also called for a shift in the nation’s value system, urging Nigerians to abandon rent-seeking behaviors and economic sabotage, such as smuggling and theft of infrastructure.
He said that Nigerians must change their mindset about Nigeria to overcome their challenges. He encouraged all to embrace a new value system and work towards productivity and economic growth.
Tinubu also praised the National Assembly’s support, describing them as key partners in his administration’s efforts to tackle the country’s hardships.
