Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has acknowledged the Supreme Court ruling affirming Martin Amaewhule and 26 others as valid members of the State House of Assembly.
In a statement by Commissioner for Information Joe Johnson, Fubara said he is reviewing the ruling’s implications before deciding on the next steps.
While recognizing the court’s decision, Fubara noted that the issue of the lawmakers’ defection remains unresolved and is still pending before the Federal High Court in Port Harcourt.
He assured Rivers residents of his commitment to upholding the rule of law and urged calm as the government evaluates the judgment’s impact.
