The Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Senator Uche Ekwunife on Saturday, paid a solidarity visit to Abuchi Enweaso , whose father allegedly cut off his hands in a domestic violence.
According to the statement released by her Special Assistant on Media, Kingsley Ubani, she visited Enugwu Ukwu General Hospital where Abuchi was receiving treatment to ascertain his condition.
The Senator said that the report which was shown on social media broke her heart and she sent her Njikoka Local Government Coordinator to locate the victim.
Describing the incident as horrific, she said that she has equally contacted the Commissioner of Police , John Abang, who had commenced investigation into the matter.
She advised citizens not to take laws into their hands , no matter the level of provocation while also calling on victims of domestic violence to speak up and report abuses and threats to their lives.
The Senator offered the young man financial succour and promised that the victim will receive the best medical treatment .
