Following the passing of elder statesman and Afenifere leader Pa Ayo Adebanjo at age 96, tributes have continued to pour in from political leaders, governors, and prominent Nigerians.

The pan-Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere, also mourned his loss, calling him a patriot par excellence whose contributions to Nigeria’s independence and democracy would remain indelible.
Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, described Adebanjo as a steadfast advocate for unity and fairness, adding that his commitment to a better Nigeria should serve as a renewed call to action.
