President Bola Tinubu has returned to Abuja after a three-day official visit to Equatorial Guinea. His Gulfstream jet touched down at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport at 6:30 pm on Friday.
This marks Tinubu’s 22nd foreign trip since taking office 15 months ago.
During his visit, President Tinubu and Equatorial Guinean President Teodoro Mbasogo signed an agreement on the Gulf of Guinea Pipeline Project, aimed at enhancing gas exploration and employment opportunities. The agreement also covered regulatory measures, ownership, and transit of natural gas.
At the signing ceremony, Tinubu emphasized the importance of addressing Africa’s challenges internally, focusing on employment, food security, and conflict resolution.
He also highlighted the need for strategic efforts to curb the exodus of talent from Africa, urging leaders to reward performance and reform outdated judicial systems.
The President’s visit to Equatorial Guinea is part of his broader engagement with African states, reinforcing Nigeria’s commitment to regional cooperation and development.
