Traditional Medical Practitioners Of Nigeria, Anambra, Celebrates African Traditional Medicine Day

The Anambra state chapter of Traditional Medical Practictioners of Nigeria has celebrated its day amidst pomp and pageantry.
The ceremony, which took place at Amawbia, Awka South Council Area, attracted members of the association across the state, including the chairman, the Vice president, the Igbo traditional medicine practitioners as well as other active members who expressed their commitment towards contributing their quota in providing quality healthcare services to the people.
Speaking on the occasion, the chairman, MTMPN, Anambra state chapter, Chief Dr Christan Nweke, said World Health Organization set aside the day in recognition of the importance of traditional medicine in treatment of ailments.
He described Anambra chapter of the association as one of the most organized In the country and advised its members to use their talents positively.
In his speech, Chief Dr Hyacinth Ezeugo, the Vice President, South East of the association, said they are law abiding citizens whose interest is to serve humanity.
He appreciated Governor Chukwuma Soludo for his support to the association.
On this part, the Financial Secretary, said the even aimed at creating awareness to highlight the efficacy of traditional medicine made of mainly Roots and herbs, in the treatment illnesses.
Also the National Woman Leader, Dr Mrs Iyom Felicia Okonkwo, expressed delight that the association has made some remarkable improvements.
The National Taskforce Chairman, Ambassador Dr John Mary Ibeka, disclosed that the association has more than 3 million members and declared their support to the government as Traditional medical Practictioners.
He further appreciated the State Commissioner of Health, Department of Pharmacy as well as tje Speaker of the State House of Assembly.
