Report has it that the Federal University Gusau has officially confirmed that Prof. Benard Odoh, the newly appointed Vice Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), holds a full professorship in Geological Sciences, effective October 1, 2015.
This confirmation follows controversy regarding his academic qualifications, fueled by claims from the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).
UNIZIK’s administration defended Odoh, stating that misinformation is being spread by disgruntled individuals. Despite the Federal Ministry of Education’s memo attempting to annul his appointment, UNIZIK insists all processes adhered to legal requirements and due diligence.
