US Secretary of State to Visit Nigeria, Others to Discuss Covid 19 and Climate Change

US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken is set to travel to Nigeria next week to discuss ending the Covid-19 pandemic and battling climate change.

According to the department’s spokesman, Ned Price on Thursday, Blinken – who will also visit Kenya and Senegal, will meet with the presidents of each country to advance US-Africa collaboration on shared global priorities.
Other topics of conversation on the agenda for the Monday to Saturday trip include revitalizing democracies, advancing peace and security, and a more inclusive global economy.

Blinken is to travels first to Nairobi, where he will meet with Kenyan President, Uhuru Kenyatta and other government officials, and underscore US support for peaceful 2022 elections.
Next, he will be in Abuja, to meet with President Muhammadu Buhari to deliver a speech on US-Africa policy.
He will then end his trip in Dakar where he will meet with Senegalese President, Macky Sall and other officials.
