16-yr-old Boy Kills Father in Defence Of His Mother
Federal Capital Territory Police Command has arrested a 16-year-old boy, Emmanuel John, for killing his father in Defence of his mother.
Police said Emmanuel of Madala village, Karshi, Abuja, at about 10 pm on Tuesday, May 2, killed his father with a pestle, during a a fight between his father and his mother.
According to police statement, the culpable homicide was reported to the Karshi police station by one Yusuf Ayuba, male, of Madala, on Wednesday, May 3.
Emmanuel is currently in police custody and will be arraigned in a juvenile court after police investigation.
Commenting on the development during a press briefing on Friday, the FCT Commissioner of Police, Haruna Garba, said the suspect hit the pestle hard on his father’s head.
Garba said, “It all happened when the suspect’s mother and father engaged themselves in a physical fight.
“The suspect took sides with his mother, used a mortar pestle and hit hard on the father’s head which eventually led to his death.
“The suspect will be arraigned in a juvenile court at the conclusion of investigation.”
