Another Building Collapses At Ifite Awka
A two storey building under construction has collapsed in Ifite village, Awka town.
This is coming barely less than a day after Dubai Lodge also in Ifite Awka collapsed.
The building is located at Number nineteen Clement Ezeodili Street Ifite Awka.
Speaking to Newsmen on the condition of anonymity, a resident of the street noted that the developer has been building the house for the past one decade, and that the residents of the street had been warning the contractor of the danger inherent in such laxity, but that he ignored them.
Another resident who also chose not to mention her name said that they were aware that the building will collapse, because of the style the developer has adopted in constructing the house, and thanked God that nobody was living in the building when it collapsed.
It was also observed that many buildings were erected on water drainage around the area, including a school, a development he noted, poses another imminent danger in the vicinity.
