
A motorcyclist was on Friday killed in a road crash at the Customary Court Junction along Igboukwu-Uga Road, Anambra State, after an accident involving a red trailer with registration number JJ496QF.
According to reports, the driver of the trailer, who said to be over speeding when he lost control and rammed into the oncoming motorcycle – a Lifan motorcycle with no registration number, in a single carriageway.
Three male adults were involved in the crash, with the unidentified rider of the motorcycle said to have died on the spot while two others sustained injuries.
The injured victims were taken to Apex Hospital, Ngo, while the motorcyclist was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty and his corpse deposited at the hospital’s morgue.
Reacting to the incident, the Anambra State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Mr Adeoye Irelewuyi, decried the spate of auto crashes, advising motorists to be more safety-conscious on the road.
