The entire citizens of Agbani quarters, Umuawulu in Awka south council area of Anambra state gathered together on Sunday 24th day of January 2021 to celebrate and affirm the victory of the newly elected president of the village Engr Peter Orji.
The election of the new President took place on 31st December 2020, under the control of the electoral body under the chairmanship of Dr Emma Ezenwaji(onowu umuawulu). Dr Ezenwaji affirmed that the election was dully conducted and also confirmed his support for the newly elected president and his executives to continue their job.
In an interview, Mr Bishop Chimezie Keke, who is also known as mkpume di ebube in Umuawulu assured the people of his support for the newly elected president and his executives. He stated that the elected President Engr Peter Orji is one of the best candidates who will run the affairs of the village at the peak of development.
In his remark, professor Michael Uchenna Orji the immediate past Dean faculty of Bio_science Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, who was part of the electoral committee that conducted the election , noted that Engr peter orji emerged as the winner.
He stated that the other candidate who stood as an opponent was disqualified by the electoral body as he applied for the position when the purchasing of the application nomination form has been closed by the committee.
On their separate contributions, Chief Emeka Sunday Aniegbunam, known as Ozo Idejuogwugwu, Odenigbo Umuawulu and Mr Martins Chukwuma and Mr Samson Anazor including Mr Peter Nweke assured all of their support to the newly elected president.
They maintained that since the election was conducted normally and the winner emerged asides from that any group or individual who are not satisfied with the outcome of the election should seek redress from the tribunal
While addressing his people, the new elected President Engr Peter Orji showed his gratitude to the people of Agbani quarters Umuawulu, for their support and chosing him to be their President.
He further assured Ndi Agbani of a good governance to pilot the affairs of the village to help it attain to the height of development.
