
Report From the Anambra Sector of the Federal Road Safety Corps said at about six o’clock yesterday evening, a lone minor road traffic crash involving a red tanker laden with diesel with registration number AKL 536 YU was recorded in front of Finotel Agu- Awka- in Awka, along Awka- Enugu express way.
According to eye witnesses, the crash occurred as a result of loss of control due to excessive speeding, causing the tanker to crash into the drain.
A total of two (2) male adults were involved.

The State Acting Sector Public Education Officer, RC Kamal Musa, informed that two male adults were involved.
He said The driver fled with the truck head before the arrival of FRSC and Men of the Anambra State Fire service who were around to neutralize the effect of the spillage diesel on ground with chemicals.
RC Kamal also noted that the SA to the Governor on Petroleum, Comrade Peter Nwosu also visited the scene of the incident, adding that neither injuries nor deaths were recorded.
Anambra State Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps CC Andrew Kumapayi, expressed sadness over what he described as unfortunate crash which could have been easily averted if the driver had maintained recommended speed limit of 50 kilometres per hour in built-up areas.
He therefore warned motorists to desist from excessive speeding as road traffic crashes are avoidable.
