Nonye Soludo Advises On Reintroduction Of Gardens Around Homes For Proper Feeding
Wife of Anambra State Governor, Mrs Nonye Soludo, has encouraged the reintroduction of gardens around homes, to help one or families eat right and proper.
Mrs Soludo pointed out that having such farms around the house, will help households have easier and healthier alternatives to food needs, without always going to markets to buy foods that may not have organic values.
Mrs Soludo gave the advice while interacting with a women group in Awka, also advised those who live in areas without enough land for subsistence farming purposes, to adopt sack farming which does not cost anything to set up.
She explained that eating right, in line with acceptable standards of healthy living, is cheap and does not have to cost so much.
The governor’s wife argued that economic circumstances do not entirely determine healthy living practices, including the choice of what one consumes to keep be healthy.
Mrs Soludo also dispelled the notion that for one to eat healthy, it must be expensive, pointing out that one only needs to go to the small farm around the house to pick up what the body needs to stay right.
The Governor’s wife, re-emphasized the need for households to adopt healthy living as a family culture, as the gains are numerous.
She pointed out that by including nutrition as the first pillar of her healthy living goals, she was looking at a stage when Anambra families will prioritize nutritional values of what they eat, while family health would be greatly improved.
