Rivers explosion: Police plan suspect’s trial after three surgeries

The Rivers State Police Command has identified the prime suspect behind the June 25 dynamite explosion near Hotel Presidential in Port Harcourt. The suspect, 49-year-old Preye Josiah from Bayelsa State, is also wanted for a series of bank robberies and is a suspected member of the Vikings cult group.

According to the police, Josiah was severely injured during the explosion, which occurred amid protests over the extension of local government officials’ tenure. After undergoing three major surgeries, his health has improved, and he is set to be charged in court soon.

The police have urged the public to remain vigilant in the event of similar incidents and to report any suspicious activities. Investigations into related explosions in Port Harcourt are ongoing.
