The winner of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) primary elections in Anambra state, Mr Valentine Ozigbo, yesterday met with the PDP Statutory and Ad-hoc delegates in the three senatorial districts of Anambra state, after a Thanksgiving service at St- Vincent Catholic Church Amesi, Anambra.

Ozigbo, who was recently elected the flag bearer of the PDP for the coming gubernatorial elections in the state, underwent an appreciation mission that took him to Anaedo hall Nnewi, Cana House St- Patrick Cathedral Awka, and Sharon House Ozara road G.R.A Onitsha to meet with, and extend his appreciations to the Anambra South, Anambra Central and Anambra North delegates of the party respectively.
Addressing the over three thousand delegates in each zone, Valentine Ozigbo noted that the meeting was to thank God for what he has done for the party and to personally thank the delegates for electing him the flag bearer.
Extending his gratitude to the National Chairman of the PDP, Prince Uche Secondus, party leaders, the National Working Committee (NWC) and the National Executives of both states and L.G.As, he promised to work with them in actualizing his plans for Anambra, urging party members unite, as the journey just began.
Nothing that the hard work and eventual victory at the polls were not just about himself, he restated that this was the best chance the party had of winning at the polls, after being in the wilderness for 16 years.
Speaking to kpakpando correspondent after the meet, Valentine Ozigbo harped on the essence of the meeting at the three senatorial districts in Anambra state; noting that although the party employed the use of super delegates, so many of the former statutory and Ad- hoc delegates intended to vote, and had to be appreciated too, as they are key members of the party and remain instrumental in the party’s quest for victory.
Thanking God he emerged winner and had received his certificate of return, he revealed that the party was ready for the polls and was the first party to forward the name of their candidate to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Speaking further, Ozigbo stated the party’s primary was the best and fairest primary ever conducted – commending the Deputy Governor of Edo State and member of the election committee, Phillip Shuaibu who insisted everything be done transparently.
He even stated that other aspirants embraced him post-victory – which had never happened before.
He also commended the Primary election agents for their conduct.

Also speaking to journalists, the Contact and Mobilization Director for the Val Ozigbo Campaign, Hon Chief Tim Egboka said Val Ozigbo’s emergence was God’s doing, as the Campaign was not involved in any manipulation.
Maintaining, however, that nobody had won, as the party still need to conquer the Nov 6th guber election, Hon. Tim pointed out that past party candidates had also endorsed Val and he was confident of the party’s chances at the polls; even as he called for support of the party members and general public to make it a reality, urging everyone to obtain and register their permanent voter’s card (PVCs).
