
Adamawa Police Search For Ritualist Who Beheaded Girl In Yola Hotel
Adamawa Police have launched a manhunt for the ritualist who beheaded a girl whose corpse was found in a Happy Home Hotel, Karewa Borehole, Yola North LGA.
A statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje on Friday, 19th January, 2024, said the lady was beheaded by a ritualist who lodged in the hotel with the lady on the 18th January, 2024, adding that the suspect left with the head of the deceased.
According to the PPRO, the ritualist told the receptionist that he wanted to go and buy something outside, but did not come back, and on checking his room, the staff found the headless body of the young lady.
Reacting to the incident, Adamawa State Commissioner of Police, CP Afolabi Babatola, strongly condemned the brutal killing.
The CP ordered an immediate investigation into the matter with a view to apprehending the perpetrator and collaborators of the dastardly act for prosecution.
He cautioned Hoteliers to report people of questionable characters to the police for immediate action, and vowed to apprehend the suspect.
The CP also warned that the killing of innocent citizens would no longer be tolerated under whatever guise.
According to him, the Command holds the lives of all Citizens sacrosanct, and such unwarranted act would be strictly treated in accordance with extant laws.
He equally restated the commitment of the Command towards protecting lives and property, stressing the need to work with other sister security agents in protecting the fundamental rights of all citizens in order to enable them advance their sacred mandate of serving and protecting the citizens better.
The police Boss appealed for calm as top managements of security agencies are doing everything legally possible to arrest the culprit.
