The Sobali water is powerful and has the ability to protect people, heal spiritual poisons and scare away evil spirits and not to be used for business or to perpetuate evil.
This was one of the importance of the Sobali diety as revealed by Dr Chukeuemeke Ofiaeli Ozor Mmiri Enweilo Okalakwu of Igbariam in Anambra State on the occasion of the celebration of the diety Ezenwanyi Sobali on the 7th and 8th January 2023 at Igbariam.
The annual event takes place on the second Eke market day in the year.
Dr Chukwuemeka said that the Sobali is a great and strong mother goddess that is kind to the people and helps them to be successful in their endeavours.
He also clarified that Ezenwanyi Sobali is not evil but operates in line with the Igbo tradition and culture. He advised people who engage in evil acts to desist from them, pray and be patient with the gods to bless them.
He also spoke against the money rituals that young people engage in, asking them to avoid oke ite but instead should pray to their god or chi as called in Igbo as everyone has a personal chi.
Appreciating everyone that attended the event, he reiterated that they should be patient and be prayerful.
